Seeking Research Fellows

To realize its strategic goal of becoming a first-class university on a global scale, Planetary Environmental and Astrobiological Research Laboratory is now seeking to recruit Research Fellows, offering favorable salaries and benefits, an excellent academic environment, and broad development opportunities.

1. Introduction to Planetary Environmental and Astrobiological Research Laboratory
The Planetary Environmental and Astrobiological Research Laboratory in the School of Atmospheric Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University is an important academic research and talent training base in the field of space and planetary sciences in China, and is one of the founding members of the Chinese Universities Planetary Science Consortium and an important member of the Center of Excellence for Innovation in Comparative Planetology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Facing the strategic needs of national deep space exploration, it mainly conducts research on the basic natural laws of the Earth and solar system celestial bodies and the coupling mechanism of the celestial layers, and deeply reveals the evolutionary laws and driving mechanisms of planetary systems by comparing the natural environment and habitability conditions of different celestial bodies.
Since its establishment in 2017, the Department of Space and Planetary Sciences has built a dynamic teaching and research team with high academic attainments. The members have achieved fruitful scientific research results in related fields; they have published more than 200 academic papers, undertaken a number of national and provincial projects (including the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, strategic pilot projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, key projects of the National Defense Bureau of Science and Industry, etc.), and participated extensively in major space exploration missions at home and abroad (such as the Chang'e series of exploration projects and the first Mars exploration project in China, etc.), and won the European He has received many international awards, including the Venus Express Outstanding Contribution Award and Cluster Outstanding Contribution Award from the European Space Agency, the Cassini Team Achievement Award and MESSENGER Team Achievement Award from NASA, and the AOGS Outstanding Young Scientist Award.
