Areas of Interest:
The processes and products of impact cratering, Tektites, Rock magnetism, Paleomagnetism
Research Overview:
The Australasian impact event, occurred about 0.78 million years ago, is the the largest and youngest meteorite impact close to us. The extensive distal impact glass (tektites) generated by this event were covered ∼20% of the Earth's surface. However, the source crater for Australasian strewn field (AASF) is still unknown. My research focus on understanding the process of Australasian impact cratering by rock magnetism, geochemistry, etc.
