Name: Zhenjun Zhou
Position: Associate Researcher
Office: Haiqin No.2 A237
Email: zhouzhj7 at mail.sysu.edu.cn
Personal Website: home.ustc.edu.cn/~zjzhou
Areas of Interest:
Solar physics, solar and terrestrial space physics
Research Overview:
Dr. Zhou works on solar physics, heliospheric physics and space weather. He studies the physical mechanism that generates solar storms, i.e., flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). He also studies the evolution of solar magnetic flux ropes and how the evolution leads to energy buildup, instability, and eruption. His research also addresses propagation and evolution of CMEs in the interplanetary space. His work serves the practical purpose in preparing for and predicting space weather to mitigate the potential adversely affect critical functions, assets, and operations in space and on Earth.
