Research Overview:

Dr. Tao mainly studies the origin, acceleration and propagation of solar wind energetic electrons. She found the obvious correlation between strahl energy spectrum index and effective temperature, which is due to the generation process of strahl electrons. And she discovered the solar activity of solar wind strahl and halo electrons. The comparison of origins in slow wind and fast wind is also one of her research interests. She is currently using the latest data from multiple satellites close to the Sun to study the scattering process of isotropic electrons.
