Areas of Interest:

Planetary space physics, the Martian induced magnetospheric dynamics, the Mars-solar wind interaction and the Martian ion escape

Research Overview:

Dr. Wang's research focuses on Martian space physics and space environment. Compared with other planets in the solar system, Mars has a unique magnetic environment. Without intrinsic magnetic field, Mars only has crustal magnetic fields nonuniformly distributed on the surface. Therefore, the space environment of Mars is strongly affected by the solar wind. Dr. Wang is interested in understanding the dynamical processes during the formation of the Martian induced magnetosphere and the solar wind impacts on the Martian space environment.
