Research Overview:

Longkang Dai is a PhD degree candidate in the Planetary Environmental and Astrobiological Research Laboratory (PEARL), School of Atmospheric sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, majoring in planetary atmosphere. He has shown great enthusiasms for planetary cloud formation. His recent project was establishing his own binary-condensation model on Venus to explore the mechanisms in the sulfuric acid cloud formation.  In addition, he has engaged in the statistical works of the Martian upper atmospheric thermal structure based on MAVEN data and the constrains of the diffusivity in the Venusian middle atmosphere based on his cloud model and the JPL kinetics model.
