From January to June 2019, Longkang Dai went to the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) for a six-month exchange visit funded by the group, whose study was on the surface chemistry of Venus - diffusion modeling. UCSC is one of the leading colleges and universities in the United States, and its space science program was even ranked in the top five in terms of global impact last year. During his visit to the United States, Dai Longkang learned and mastered the structure and use of the model, and applied it to his own research on the anomaly of oxygen content in the middle and upper atmosphere of Venus. In addition, the independent life in a foreign country is also a great challenge and honing for him. He said that this experience is the most valuable asset in his student career.
