Prof. Quine undertakes research in Earth Surface Science that focuses on perturbation of the terrestrial carbon cycle by soil erosion and sediment deposition and on long-term landscape evolution. Prof. Quine’s research has a strongly international dimension and, in addition to continuing work in Europe, Prof. Quine’s current projects take him to China (Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Geochemistry), India (Indian Council for Agricultural Research) and South America (Brazilian National Institute for Space Research). Over 62% of his papers have been written with international collaborators. He was a Lead Author of the Regulating Services Chapter for the UK National Ecosystem Assessment and has been a member of National and International Working Groups on Geomorphology. He has an H-index of 38 and has been cited >3900 times.
