As a host, Prof. Song YANG delivered a welcoming speech, noting that IPCC did a marvelous job in advances and gaps in the field of climate change and relevance for regional policy-making. Then, IPCC Authors made self-introductions, respectively. Prof. Wenjie DONG also introduced the history of School of the Atmospheric Science, SUN YAT-SEN University and international exchange programs.
Afterwards, students and researchers in the University engaged in discussions on topics such as climate extremes, projection uncertainty, climate effects of TP (the Tibetan Plateau), teleconnection and paleoclimate. Relevant experts gave the answers from the forefront of this field for each topic, receiving very active responses.
